Entrepôt: Toronto is an immersive installation that reimagines the intersection of retail overflow and industrial warehousing. Opening at 185 Spadina Avenue, the project situates itself in the heart of Toronto, transforming the city into the next stage of this ongoing exploration of product, design, and space.
The installation reframes archival pieces, discounted products, and overstock as part of a curated, narrative experience. Set against the backdrop of an unfinished warehouse, the environment creates a raw, minimalist setting where commercial surplus is recast as cultural artifact.
At its core, Entrepôt challenges perceptions around discounted or surplus goods. Instead of a purely utilitarian storage function, these products are elevated within a purposefully designed, immersive space. Excess is given meaning, inviting visitors to reflect on each item’s value beyond its original point of sale.By presenting items ranging from surplus stock to archival samples, Entrepôt not only uncovers the beauty in product longevity but also frames excess as a catalyst for sustainability and new models of circulation.
